Not For Beginners
In all fairness to the writer/publisher I did not ompletely read this book. I am new to VS2005 having taught myself VB since Version 3. VS2005, in my opinion is a whole new species of programming. This book is not for the beginner with VS2005. This book tells you where the various features, wizards, helpers and the like are thoughout VS2005. Doesn't give much info on how to program with VS2005.
I recommend `Start-To-Finish Visual Basic 2005` by Tim Patrick for the beginner VB2005.NET.

Tons of information
There should be a class taught on Visual Studio by itself. This book is excellent. Highly recommend if having trouble learning Visual Studio.

Not what I'd hoped for
I started a new job a while back and found myself using VS2005 for the first time after years of using VS6. I was looking for a book to get me up to speed, and there are few titles out there.
While this book had some useful info I found that it wasn't terribly useful for a programmer writing C++ in a non-.NET environment. Most of the coding examples are in other languages and mainly targeted towards .NET.
If you're working in that environment you may find this more useful than I did.

No codes samples available
An excellent book. Lots of examples. Unfortunately, you will have to type in all the code examples yourself as the Sams Publishing web page does not have any downloads even though the back covers says that they are available.

Great breakdown on the tool for novices and professionals alike!
This book did a great job of revealing the breadth of features available in the product. I think this book is quite useful to not only those that are just getting started but those that are seriously considering implementing VS/TFS in the organization. Even if you are an experienced user of Visual Studio you will certainly learn several new tricks. In fact, I reference this book with my clients who are interested in rolling out VS and TFS.
